Seylan Tikiri, one of the leading minor savings brands in the country, recently entered a partnership with the Abacus-based learning methodology, Universal Concept Mental Arithmetic System (UCMAS) to enhance the mathematical skills of children.
Designed for children aged 4-13, the collaboration is Seylan Tikiri’s bid to help children learn mathematics better and easier by making the learning process enjoyable, where generally it has been a subject children consider boring or difficult to grasp.
The official launch of the partnership, attended by parents and teachers from the surrounding schools, recently took place at the Seylan Bank Head Office. The event included a live demonstration of the skills of current UCMAS students, underscoring the need to fund and support educational initiatives geared towards easing the lives of struggling students. The event also served as a reminder of how fundamental it is for children to enjoy their education to get the best out of it.
Ever in search of child-friendly innovations and initiatives, this partnership with UCMAS’ unique child development programme demonstrates Seylan Tikiri’s shared interest in developing the intellectual capacities in providing education that makes a difference. Working with a mental math development programme to help students across the country, they strive to facilitate positive and engaging learning experiences. Founded in Malaysia in 1993, UCMAS is an ISO certified programme currently present in over 35 locations, with operations commencing in Sri Lanka in 2004.
As a brand, Seylan Tikiri has always sought to put their values into practice. This initiative follows several others implemented to prepare the Tikiri Generation for the future. Through this initiative with UCMAS, the Tikiri Kids are encouraged to develop their mathematical competencies, while raising awareness in teachers and parents to seek out creative strategies to help children learn better.
